Meet Jay Kovar

Most people do not call an attorney until life has already taken an unexpected turn. An accident. A dispute. A death in the family. A business problem. By then, they are often overwhelmed, uncertain, and wondering who they can trust.

Jay Kovar believes no one should have to face those moments alone. That belief did not begin in law school. It began at home.

Jay was raised by a single mother whose instinct was always to help other people, even when she had very little herself. Their home was often open to people who had nowhere else to go, especially during the holidays.

Watching his mother put compassion before convenience left a lasting impression, and it still shapes the way Jay approaches both his profession and his life.

As he grew older, he realized he wanted a career centered on helping people rather than simply earning a living from their problems. He also saw how difficult it can be for ordinary people to understand whether they have a legal problem, what their options are, or even which type of lawyer they should call.

Sometimes someone needs a lawsuit. Sometimes they need an attorney with a very specific area of experience. And sometimes they simply need someone knowledgeable to listen, explain the situation, and help them determine what comes next.

Jay has been a licensed Florida attorney for more than a decade, but his experience extends far beyond the practice of law. Before becoming an attorney, he built homes, owned a construction company, advised clients on buying and selling businesses, and worked as a financial advisor.

He paid his own way through college and earned his finance degree from the University of Central Florida. He later attended Stetson University College of Law, completing law school in less than two and a half years before passing the Florida Bar on his first attempt.

Those experiences continue to shape how Jay approaches legal problems today. He understands that a legal issue is rarely only a legal issue. It can affect someone's family, finances, business, relationships, and peace of mind. His approach is grounded not only in understanding the law, but also in understanding what is actually at stake for the person asking for help.
